Benefits of drinking water

Today the last post in the Health and beauty week.

In my post about favourites of August I mentioned a big bottle of still water as one of my favourites. Read that post here.

The other day I saw a picture on facebook with a few benefits of drinking water on it and thought it would be nice to write a post about it.

I didn't have enough time to research myself so my information comes mostly from the website http://www.mangosteen-natural-remedies.com

The Top 10 benefits of drinking water.

1 Losing weight: Drinking water helps you lose weight because it flushes down the by-products of fat breakdown. Drinking water reduces hunger, so you’ll eat less. Plus, water has zero calories.

2 Looking younger with healthier and glowing skin: You’ll look younger when your skin is properly hydrated. Water helps to replenish skin tissues, moisturizes skin and increases skin elasticity. Also water helps to purge toxins from your blood which keeps your skin glowing and clear.

3 Better productivity at work: Your brain is mostly made up of water, thus drinking water helps you think better, be more alert and more concentrated.

4 Better exercise: Drinking water regulates your body temperature. That means you’ll feel more energetic when doing exercises. Water also helps to fuel your muscle.

5 Helps in digestion and constipation: Drinking water raises your metabolism because it helps in digestion. Fiber and water goes hand in hand so that you can have your daily bowel movement. Drinking water on an empty stomach purifies the colon  making it easier to absorb nutrients.

6 Less cramps and sprains: Proper hydration helps keep your joints and muscles lubricated, so you’ll less likely get cramps and sprains.

Water adds with lemon is used for ailments like respiratory disease, intestinal problems, rheumatism and arthritis etc. In other words: one of the benefits of drinking water is that it can improve your immune system.

8 Relieves fatigue: Water is used by the body to help flush out toxins and waste products from the body. If your body lacks water, your heart, for instance, needs to work harder to pump out the oxygenated blood to all cells, so are the rest of the vital organs, your organs will be exhausted and so will you.

9 Good mood: Your body feels very good and that’s why you feel happy.

10 Reduce the risk of cancer: Related to the digestive system, some studies show that drinking a healthy amount of water may reduce the risks of bladder cancer and colon cancer. Water dilutes the concentration of cancer-causing agents in the urine and shortens the time in which they are in contact with bladder lining.

The conclusion is ; drinking water is extremely good for us.

So have yourself a glass as often as you can and reap the benefits !

I totally agree with you! Great blog!
I have to agree thaat water is wonderful! I drink a lot every day. I used to be addicted to diet coke. Drank it all the time until one day I woke up to the fact that the aspartame in it was giving me all kinds of digestive problems. I thought I had IBS but once I gave up drinking soft drinks and started drinking water that all changed. Amazing that such a simple step could be so helpful!

It’s World Breastfeeding Week from August 1st to August 7th 2013 and this year’s theme is Breastfeeding Support: Close to Mothers. You can read more about it on http://worldbreastfeedingweek.org . The focus is on community support, particularly in the form of peer-to-peer support. To show support for World Breastfeeding Week, the Irish Parenting Bloggers group is holding a blog march about varied breastfeeding experiences, including experiences with breastfeeding support in Ireland. This inspired me to write a post about breastfeeding as well. My breast feeding journey When I was pregnant with my first child, I decided that it would be a great idea to combine breast- and bottle feeding. But in the hospital they convinced me how healthy and important it was to breastfeed exclusively and then I decided to go that road. I got a breast pump to express milk so my baby could get a bottle with breast milk when I was out and about or for the scarce times that I would leave her

Nevaehs Summer Bucket list

Unfortunately, it seems that this year the Autumn weather has started earlier than last year.  And so I finally wanted to write a blog post to share Nevaehs Summer Bucket list with you. This Summer, we mostly stayed in the Netherlands. We only went to Germany to visit Moviepark Germany for two days. At the beginning of the break, the girls entertained themselves by playing games and watching youtube video’s on their tablets and laptop. This bothered me a bit, so one evening I called them all together to sit down and told them to make a bucketlist for the Summer. The first one to finish was allowed to have the last bit of ice cream. Nevaeh can already write a little bit but I told her that she could draw instead. So she made a bucketlist with 10 items on it. The actual bucket list got lost somewhere but we memorized what was on it and I’m glad to say that she has been able to do all the items on it. So here is Nevaehs Summer Bucket List. 1 Go to the playground W
