Our past weekend part 2: Family event : Flight fest

When I heard about the Flightfest, I thought: 'interesting but probably not something we’ll be able to go to.' But since Ixora really wanted to go, as she told me on Saturday and there was an Flightfest advertisement poster at a LUAS station that said : ‘take the LUAS’ , I decided to go on google to do some research to find out where it actually was and how you could get there. It appeared to be quite easy to get there so on Sunday morning when I found that out, I decided that we would go.
I made a few sandwiches and filled two bottles with juice but I didn’t count on the rainy weather. All we had was a broken umbrella and then the rain cover for the double buggy and at some stage Ixora and I were really totally soaked, so much that she wanted to go home before it actually had started.
I refused ofcourse and told her that we came for the airplanes and that I at least wanted to see a few fly over. And I also told her that she would get dry again. The weather really turned and we dried up completely . Praise God. We had a great time and Ixora was happy that we stayed.

I loved taking pictures of the airplanes, even though I first found it hard to see them through the lens so I asked Ixora to take some pictures. But I took over from her again and it later worked out alright.

They really flew quite low so you could see them very well and it was a great experience to watch them while they were flying over you.

After a while we got some ice cream.

We got a barbequed hot-dog as well which was really yummy.

The kids wanted to play a little in a tiny park nearby.

And we saw some more airplanes flying over.

There were supposed to be some activities for kids but I forgot all about them. We were more focused on the airplanes, but on our way back we saw some kids with face paintings. This family event was also organised as part of The Gathering.

It turned out to be a really awesome day. It was such a great experience. We really had a wonderful time. And I was pleased that we were able to go. Glory to God !

How was your weekend ? Do you have any plans for the coming weekend ?
Have a great weekend whatever you do !

Love,

Never have I ever...

Today it is Sunday, so it is time for another fun post. I decided to do a ' never have I ever' post.

Never have I ever run a full marathon .....but I ran a half marathon for women once in Dublin.

Never have I ever owned a brand new car ......but I owned two second hand ones, even though I only had an Irish learner drivings license.

Never have I ever had a book published...... even though I am intending to do that one day.

Never have I ever traveled to the United States......., even though I hope to have that happen some day.

Never have I ever gotten a baby boy........, but this would really be a dream come true.

Never have I ever had a dream wedding.....,  but I am believing that this is still possible.

Never have I ever gone skiing....., but I hope to give it a try one day.

Never have I ever swum with dolphins......., but this looks like an amazing thing to do.

Never have I ever had a baby shower......., even though this seems very cool to experience.

It's Summer time / Giveaway (closed)

It’s officially Summer here in Ireland, even though most of the time  it is hard to see it when you look outside. There are days when there have been some sunny spells but the sun has been hiding behind dark clouds on most of those days as well. This week it's supposed to be a good week weather wise.  A few weeks ago the sun was shining since the morning and after dropping the two older girls at school, I decided to take Nevaeh for a walk to the park close by and to feed the ducks. On the way to the park the sun was so much in my eyes that I decided to stop at the Dunnes Stores and get sun glasses. Since Nevaeh was so interested in mine I got her some too. Mini mouse ones. She loves them. The week after, it was the turn for the older girls to get sun glasses. Hello Kitty ones for Yovannah. And pink, sparkly ones for Ixora. They really love their sun glasses and wear them on sunny days.

Since this post is post nr. 60 of my blog I decided to do a little give away.

What Kids Wore Wednesday; Kitty love (day 11)

Ir's Wednesday so it's time for another Kids outfit post. As I mentioned in my last What Kids Wore Wednesday post, Nevaeh really loves bunnies a lot and she loves clothes with bunnies on them. In the same way Yovannah really loves cats and clothes with cats on them. We mostly buy clothes from H & M because they have cute items of reasonable quality and low prices and we had gotten a gift card from H & M a while back so we are used to shopping there.
They happen to have a lot of cats and bunnies in their collection for some reason, so the girls could not be more pleased with shopping there. They get to pick their own clothes so when Yovannah saw this cute black skirt, she really had to have it. I love it too. It is made out of ‘leather look’ fabric and it has this cute face on it and on the top of the skirt there are two ears sticking out.
In the pictures she is wearing it with a blue/grey-ish top with a cat on it and dark grey tights with a black stripy pattern on t…
